A flow-structure interaction between the elastically connected bodies and the flow of viscous incompressible fluid is simulated by the Viscous Vortex Domains method (VVD). The method VVD is assigned for numerically solving the 2D Navier–Stokes equations. It is fully lagrangian mesh-free method. A vortex field is modeled by the vortex particles which move at the diffusion velocity relative to the flow. To determine the bodies’ velocity and the circulation of the vortices which are generated at the current time step, the general linear equation system is solved. This system consists of the bodies’ dynamics equations and the boundary condition equations. Hydrodynamical force and torque are expressed linearly via the circulations of the generated vortices. The unknown values of the bodies’ velocities and vortices circulations are obtained simultaneously by solving of this linear system. Some problems of a flow-structure interaction have been solved such as flutter of the bodies in a flow, the motion of the interacting pendulums and others. Also action of the elastic connections of the bodies was investigated.
