Introduction: Copeptin is a glycopeptide, the part of the pre-hormone molecule of the antidiuretic hormone (arginine vasopressin). Antidiuretic hormone takes a part in blood osmolarity and sodium plasma level regulation. In kidneys antidiuretic hormone induces water reabsorbtion through activation of aquaporins synthesis. In addition, antidiuretic hormone causes vasoconstriction of blood vessels. Antidiuretic hormone is vary unstable molecule, therefore copeptin considered to be one of the biomarker of cardiovascular diseases and pregnancy hypertensive disorders. Conclusion: We revealed significant differences in blood plasma ions balance and Copeptin level in normal pregnancy and preeclampsia. Increased Copeptin level was associated with significant reduction of sodium plasma level in PE. Dysregulation of Copeptin-sodium balance is one of the key in PE pathogenesis.
