Endo-1,4-b-glucanases, or simply endoglucanases (EC 3.2.1.4), are important components of fungal multienzyme systems that catalyze the biodegradation of plant l biomass in nature. Endoglucanases primarily hydrolyze amorphous regions of cellulose, reducing its degree of polymerization and providing new chain ends for cellobiohydrolases. Increase of thermostability of the endoglucanases will expand the possibilities of using in various biotechnological processes. This can be important when using new recombinant enzyme in the bleaching processes of cellulose pulp and also when used in agriculture for granulation of feed. Creation of –S-S- bridges is one of the most popular approaches to increase thermostability, since it makes it possible to strengthen the rigidity of the protein structure
