The paper discusses the East German comic book «Mosaik» created by Hannes Hegen and his team of painters. Whether or not such comic book reflects ideological values during this period, it necessarily informs the today’s reader about the themes which aroused interest among the generations. The author focuses on the particularities characteristic of the colloquial language used in the comic book during its transition from a “Bildergeschichte” to the “Bildroman”.
