The Pd-Sn binary was assessed in the frame of Redlich-Kister polynomials for disordered phases, including liquid, and sublattice models for intermetallics. The polynomial model is quite inappropriate for description of the (Cu,Ag,Au)-Pd-Sn ternaries due to unavoidable spurious miscibility gaps in calculated liquids. To cope with this problem we tried to replace the Redich-Kister polynomials by association model for most exothermic binary Pd-Sn. We included also description of the phase Pd5Sn7, recently found in the system by [3]. The description obtained is of about the same quality as published one, but is better suited for description of ternary systems.
