Adsorption of IFKhAN-92 inhibitor on mild steel from 2 M HCl solution was studied with the use of impedance spectroscopy. Adsorption of IFKhAN-92 inhibitor on the surface of mild steel from hydrochloric acid solution can be described by the Temkin isotherm. The free adsorption energy of IFKhAN-92 calculated from the isotherm is ΔGads = -42 kJ/mol, which enables us to suggest that the interaction of the inhibitor with the steel is chemisorptive in nature. The idea of chemisorption of IFKhAN-92 is supported by the possibility of describing the adsorption kinetics of the inhibitor with the Roginsky-Zeldovich equation, which is typically valid in the case of slow chemisorption of a substance. IFKhAN-92 inhibitor exhibits a strong protective aftereffect on steel in 2 M HCl solution, which also confirms the notable strength of bonds formed between the steel surface and the adsorption layers.
