- Описание: The purposed course "Sequence stratigraphy" offers for students the basic propositions of science, model of the structure of sequences and their relation to different types of sedimentary systems. Students need to understand mechanisms of formation of sequences, new methods of interpreting information about the features of the geometry strata and the genesis of sedimentary systems. Discipline structure contains: 1. Objectives and importance of the Sequence stratigraphy, it connection with other geological disciplines. 2.Basic terms of Sequence Stratigraphy. 3.Sequences and systems tracts , their characteristics. 4. Parasequence and parasequence sets.5. Sedimentological and chronostratigraphic model of sequences. . Seismostratigraphy and seismofacies. Types of seismofacies. Feature unconformities in the seismic record. 7. Stratal termination patterns and stratal patterns as a reflection of unconformities. . 8. Logs and their use in sequence stratigraphy.9.Coastal and shallow water sedimentary system, deltas and their characteristics. 10. Deep-sea sediments and their characteristics.11. Carbonate platforms, reefs, carbonate facies. 12. Tectonostratigraphy as a new method of the modern Geology.
