Аннотация:The creep of certain composites and a number of other materials (graphite, ceramics, concrete) is dis- similar under tension and compression [ 1-9]. Several "different-creep" models are proposed to describe this phenomenon [1, 4, 6-8, 10-13]; experimental data defining the range of their application are, however, inade- quate. The creep of materials of different tensile and compressive strengths under variable loads is particu- larly not well understood [6, 8 ]. Accordingly, investigations of the "different creep" of polymers and compos- ite materials under constant and variable loads remain essential.
In our study, we present the results of an investigation of the creep of a pressed powder magnesium- based composite under uniaxial tension-compression induced by constant and variable loads. The experiments were conducted on a special apparatus, which made it possible to test specimens under constant and constant- and alternating-sign stepwise loading programs. The design of the apparatus and the method of its operation are described in [ 141.
