Аннотация:Currently it is necessary to form complex scientific approaches to the assessment of the dynamics of quantitativeand qualitative indicators hydro, chemical and biological state of the Caspian Sea ecosystem. Assessmentof the sea state is based on the target field and experimental studies of research institutes, aswell as data obtained from State Observation Network (SON) as a part of monitoring system of the marineenvironment and results based on the monitoring of large offshore oil and gas projects. The main goal ofresearch is ecological and geographical mapping of the Northern Caspian. The results will help to establishgeneral patterns of long-term spatial and temporal distribution of indicators of hydro chemical and biologicalparameters, as well as the level of pollution of the marine environment. Determination of sustainableproperties of the waters can be used in the economic and environmental activities on the northern shelfof the Caspian Sea and to create an optimized environmental monitoring system. Also, it is neccessary touse ecological and geographical approach, which determines the territory of the North Caspian Sea as aspecific uniform hydrodynamic system, strongly linked with surrounding land, their hydro climatic, ecologicaland economic characteristics. Ecological and geographical mapping of the Northern Caspian Seawas based on aggregate analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the water masses and majorpollutant indicators using geo-information technologies. As a result of research spatial database of differentproperties of water of North Caspian Sea was created. Database allows querying over a large numberof environmental parameters, building their statistical and graphical evaluation on the basis of long-termdata set (1978-2014). Results of database analysis can be visualized in ArcGIS software.
