IN ANDREY BELY’S NOVEL “THE SILVER DOVE”
Abstract
This article analyses the spatial organization of A. Bely's novel “The Silver Dove”. The article demonstrates the basis of spatial construction, which is construed by the writer’s view on synthesized geometry and philosophy. Through A. Bely’s view of the world order and the place of human existing in, it is clearly shown that A. Bely's ideas about the space in the novel is one of the factors organizing its theme and chronotope.
The author of the article shows how, in the prism of the philosophical and mathematical synthesis of A. Bely's ideas, his strongest creative potential is revealed. First, the article shows the writer uses scientific and philosophical cognition methods of reality as tools for the design of creative ideas. Secondly, it indicates that the natural philosophical views of A. Bely were expressed in the geometric structure of the novel “The Silver Dove”. In the basis of the spatial structure of the novel there are not only geometric plane figures: a triangle, a square, a circle, but also three-dimensional polyhedron: pyramids, and a cone. Thirdly, it demonstrates that the movement of the protagonist in the novel is described to use like a method of imparting dynamic properties to a static space.
