Аннотация:The simulation of the Black Sea circulation was carried out by the eddy-resolving model developed in Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The numerical experiments were run with a horizontal resolution of 1.6 km and taking into account the real atmospheric forcing for 2006, 2011, 2013. Such spatial step is less then Rossby radius of deformation for the Black Sea so we can reconstruct eddies with characteristic mesoscale and submesoscale time-spatial parameters. Modeling hydrophysical fields corresponded to satellite and in-situ observations data. The most intensive generation of eddies was observed in the neighborhood of the Crimean peninsula, on the North-Western Shelf, in the north-eastern and south-eastern parts of the sea. Vortex structures in the coastal zones were formed in all seasons under condition weak winds of any directions. Kinetic and potential energy budgets for 2006 and 2011 were calculated to investigate the generation mechanisms of eddies. Shown that two main mechanisms of coastal eddies formation were dominated in the Black Sea: baroclinic instability and interaction of the coastal current having velocity more than 0.4 m/s with shore inhomogeneities.
