The paper analyzes the principle by which the actor chooses communicative units while creating the character of a fairy tale villain in children’s film (Duke de Malicorne in “The City of Craftsmen”, 1965). It finds out that the actor’s strategy specifics is the variation of the same pattern of communicative behavior in each episode. The paper shows how this task is solved with the help of the communicative means of the language, by ignoring the nominative content of the scripted lines. Herewith the variations of the basic strategy are conditioned by the personality of the collocutor. The role material gives a great example of the Russian communicative means’ capabilities and their ultimate aesthetic charge in movie dialogue.
