Аннотация:The paper surveys the methods used for the preparation of multicomponent catalytic systems that involve the chemical modification of biologically-active compounds with synthetic polymers by means of the radical copolymerization of the corresponding << macromonomers >> with hydrophilic monomers. Using enzyme/co-factor systems and mixtures of enzymes (protease/heparin, protease/aliphatic hydrocarbon fragment, serum albumin/oxyreductase etc) as examples, the authors show that the occurrence of consecutive catalytic reactions is possible only when the arrangement of the immobilized compounds in the bulk of the polymer or at its surface is favourable. Polymer modification using the copolymerization technique is shown to be the procedure that conforms best to this requirement. On the basis of results obtained, the process of covalent immobilization of a number of micro-organisms was carried out. The prospects of using multi-functional systems and cells in biotechnological and other processes are demonstrated.
