Аннотация:Two methods of interpretation of two-frequency polarization observations of spiral galaxies aimed at the determination of the global structure of the large-scale magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to the disk are discussed and compared. Both methods are applied to observations of the galaxies IC342 and M81. The general pattern of the magnetic disk field in IC 342 is confirmed to be axisymmetric for galactocentric distances in the radial range 5-13 kpc. The equivalent strength of the regular magnetic field in IC342 is estimated as 3 +3/-1 microG for 9-13 kpc, while for 5-9 kpc the regular field strength is 2 +/- 1 microG. The pitch angle of the magnetic lines in IC342 is -16 +/- 11 deg and -20 +/- 4 deg for these two radial ranges, respectively. The position angles analysis for M81 reveals noticeable apparent deviations of the magnetic disk field from the axial symmetry. The bisymmetric field is possibly accompanied by an axisymmetric component not exceeding 0.6 microG in strength.
