Аннотация:We consider the statement of the problem on the density of a sheet current that models a plane open conducting surface in the quasistationary approximation of the Maxwell equations. We show that the new scalar variable, the current function, can be found from a boundary value problem similar to the first boundary value problem for the Laplace equation. The equation of the problem contains a hypersingular integral operator. We state a finite element method and suggest an acceleration procedure for the computations in which the dense matrix of the integral operator is approximated by a sparse matrix. Numerical results are given.
