Аннотация:The paraprocess in compounds of heavy rare-earth metals and iron, of the RFe//2 and RFe//3 type, was studied by molecular field theory. It is found that an equation of the alpha mu plus beta mu **3 equals H, form ( mu being the magnetization while alpha and beta are coefficients expressed via atomic constants, exchange integrals and temperature) which follows from the theory, is experimentally satisfied near the Curie point. The dependence of alpha and beta on the atomic number is largely governed by the parameter xi , which is the absolute value of the magnetization ratio of the sublattices at Curie point. The criterion of a magnetic compensation point is found to be that xi less than 1.
