On the basis of the generalized model (GM) of the electrode impedance, which takes into account the possibility of a parallel discharge and adsorption of the M+ cation at a metal electrode M, the effect the resistance Rf of the charge-transfer stage has on the impedance spectra calculated for a model system M/[mc MX + (1 - m)c CX + H2O] is analyzed. The impedance spectra calculated within the framework of GM, the traditional model (TM), and the Randles-Ershler model (RE) are compared for Rf varying from 0 to ∞ in a mixed electrolyte. It is shown that the difference between GM and TM is very small at Rf = 0 and sharply increases with the increasing Rf; the RE model predicts qualitatively different spectra. © 1997 MAИK Hayκa/Interperiodica Publishing.
