Аннотация:EQUATIONS FOR CALCULATING DIFFERENTIAL CAPACITANCE CURVES (C VERSUS E CURVES) IN THE PRESENCE OF ORGANIC IONS, WHOSE SPECIFIC ADSORPTION RESULTS IN LOWERING OF THE CAPACITANCE OF THE COMPACT LAYER, HAVE BEEN DERIVED. THE RESULTS OF THE CALCULATIONS WITH THE AID OF THESE EQUATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPAREDWITH EXPERIMENTAL C VERSUS E CURVES FOR THE ADSORPTION OF TETRABUTYLAMMONIUM CATIONS ON AN HG ELECTRODE. THE PROPOSED MODEL SATISFACTORILY CONVEYS THE VERY UNEXPECTED QUALITATIVE EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INFLUENCE OF THE DIFFUSE LAYER UPON THE VARIATION OF THE TOTAL CONCENTRATION OF THE ELECTROLYTE AND THE TEMPERATURE.
