Аннотация:First material on bats was collected from Vietnam by Russian zoologists in 1978-1997 as a by-product of mammalogical and ornithological surveys. Nevertheless, some interesting findings were made in this period by Dr. G.V. Kuznetsov and M.V. Kalyakin, including the first record of Sphaerias blanfordi in Vietnam. Russian bat specialists have been taking part on the expeditions of Vietnamese-Russian Tropical Center since 1997. Nine localities in Central and Southern Vietnam have hitherto been investigated in various natural biotopes (from lowland river valleys and cities to mountainous evergreen forests). 58 species were collected from the whole 97, currently known from Vietnam. Six species: Saccolaimus saccolaimus, Rhinolophus acuminatus, Eudiscopus denticulus, Arielulus aureocollaris, A. circumdatus and Hesperoptenus blanfordi, were found by us in Vietnam for the first time. Myotis annamiticus Kruskop et Tsytsulina, 2001 was described as a new species. Also, certain information about roosts, foraging behavior, reproductive cycle and parasites of some little-known species was collected during these years.
