Аннотация:The locomotor activity of the common vole sibling-species (Microtus rossiaemeridionalis, 2n = 54; M. arvalis, 2n = 46) from natural sympatric populations of Moscow region were studied by the "open field" test. The brain and hippocamus mass of M. rossiaemeridionalis are larger than those in M. arvalis. in the field, the locomotor activity in M. rossiaemeridionalis is higher as compared with that in M. arvalis in behavioral tests. The passed way, speed of movement, and rearing numbers in M. rossiaemeridionalis were significantly greater than in M. arvalis, whereas in the latter the duration of the motionless period was longer than in the former. The data obtained reveal correlation between the brain morphology and specific features of behavior in common voles.
