Аннотация:В данной статье рассматривается жизнь и творчество художника, исследователя Арктики, экономиста Александра Алексеевича Борисова (1866–1934). Изучив его биографию и научные труды, авторы статьи выделяют следующие проблемы, решением которых занимался Борисов: улучшения условий жизни и быта местного населения – самоедов, проблему их спаивания зырянами при товарообмене, необходимость устройства в Заполярье консервных заводов, проблемы и перспективы развития северного оленеводства, перспективы торговли самоедов с русскими, строительство деревянных судов на Русском Севере, проектирование железных дорог на Крайнем Севере России с их привязкой к речным путям сообщения, строительство курорта Солониха, Побывав в семи полярных экспедициях как художник, Борисов пришёл к выводу, что проблемы народов Крайнего Севера невозможно решить средствами живописи. Борисов приходит к выводу о том, что необходима борьба за экономическое возрождение Крайнего Севера, его транспортное освоение, сохранение природных богатств.
This paper discusses the life and work of the artist, Arctic explorer, economist Alexander Alekseevich Borisov (1866–1934). Having studied his biography and scientific works, the authors of the article highlight the following problems Borisov dealt with: improving the living conditions of the local population - the Samoyeds, the problem of the Zyryans making them drunk them during barter trades, the need to arrange canning plants in the Arctic, problems and prospects for the development of northern reindeer herding, prospects trade of Samoyeds with Russians, the construction of wooden ships in the Russian North, the design of railways in the Far North of Russia with their connection to the river communication routes, the construction of the resort of Solonikha. Having visited seven polar expeditions as an artist, Borisov came to the conclusion that the problems of the peoples of the Far North cannot be solved by means of painting. Borisov concludes that a struggle is needed for the economic revival of the Far North, its transport development, and the preservation of natural resources.
