Аннотация:The problem of ecology of man under contemporary conditions is focused in the paper. The main approaches of ecological psychology to the study of “man-environment” relations have been generalized. The object of the analysis is the educational environment as a set of spatial-subject, social, informational, psychological and pedagogical influences and conditions of personality formation. The risk factors that adversely affect the development and health of students have been summarized. The functions of the educational environment have been revealed: adaptive, formative, educational ones. Ecopsychological models have been described, conceptualizing the relationship between the subjects of education and the educational environment: a health-saving environment, a tolerant environment, a psychologically safe environment, a safe information-virtual environment, verbal space, a creative environment and an ecological environment. The conclusion has been made that the ecopsychological design of the educational environment makes it possible to minimize social risk factors, negative psychophysical influences and provides adequate conditions for the development of students of a higher education institution, psychological safety and self-actualization.
