Аннотация:The formation, of self-organized porous/tubular titania anodic oxides is widely investigated throughout last decades. The essential step of the conventional process is chemical dissolution, and fluoride containing electrolytes are commonly used for that. We have investigated the growth of titania nanotubes arrays in butylmethylimidazolium (triflate)imide BMIMNf2 (+ propylene glycol) and butylmethylimidazolium chloride BMIMCl (+ water) ionic liquid electrolytes as an alternative procedure. The experiment is similar to our study of ordered hexagonal nanostructure formation in the course of electrochemical polishing of nickel and steel. The formation mechanism is based on our previous investigation of field-induced surface instability arising during electropolishing with the following analysis of nanotube growth.
