Аннотация:For the first time the soils formation on the ancient kurgans in the South Ural region has been investigated. Contents of carbonate, gypsum, phosphorus, potassium, soil salinity, humus substanses, particle size distribution and magnetic susceptability have been analized in paleosols buried under kurgans created at Middle Bronze Age (1600 BC), Savromat (500 BC) and Later Sarmat (400 AD) periods. The data obtained allowed us to estimate climate aridization at Savromat time and humid epizod at Late Sarmat time of the Early Iron Age in the steppe zone of the Ural region. These climate changes were reflected in soil parameters, such us humus, salts, carbonates and gypsum profile distributions.
