Pd-catalyzed deoxygenation of fatty acids mixture for 2nd generation biodiesel productionтезисы доклада

- Аннотация: Fatty acids and their derivatives (methyl or ethyl esters) as well as triglycerides can be used as the raw material in the deoxygenation process. Deoxygenation of vegetable-based feeds is typically related to pyrolysis (cracking), which proceeds with destruction of hydrocarbon chain and removal of oxygen. However, pyrolysis causes the decrease of hydrocarbon chain length, and hence to the decrease of energy content of the produced fuel. Catalytic deoxygenation of a mixture of fatty acids (0.26% of palmitic acid, 2.4% of stearic acid, 43.08% of oleic acid, 54.26% of linoleic acid) obtained by hydrolysis of sunflower oil was carried out. The main product of deoxygenation reaction was n-heptadecane. The formation of negligible amount of hydrocarbons with lower carbon number was observed, indicating that cracking also takes place. With the use of the catalysts, a selectivity of the process ≤ 99.8% (regarding n-heptadecane) was achieved, while the conversion of substrate was 100%.
