Аннотация:Forward and inverse problems of magnetotellurics are traditionally solved using the free space magnetic permeability assumed for the whole medium without considering its changes. However, in the vicinity of intensive magnetic anomalies magnetotelluric (MT) and magnetovariational (MV) responses can get distortions leading to misinterpretation of electromagnetic (EM) data.
The effect of the anomalous magnetic permeability on KIROVOGRAD project MT/MV data collected at the northwestern slope of the Voronezh Massive was studied by means of 2D forward modeling. Modelling results are presented in pseudo sections of EM field magnetic components and MT/MV transfer functions.
