Roots of ethno-social problem often seem obvious: migrants and ethnic minorities are increasingly visible in the population of European cities and create enclaves in them. However, it’s deepen and complex problem. Spatial analysis showed that in European capitals segregation is more noticeable at the small territories such as quarters then large areas; it depends on income and real estate prices. For example, in London, at the level of quarters, was revealed a close connection with the distribution of income among the “White British”, “Mixed” and Chinese, and among the most numerous “Other Ethnic” groups there is a low level of conformity. The coincidence of territorial structures is more vividly manifested in Moscow because here there is a direct dependence on the share of immigrants and housing prices. However, the territorial and statistical analysis of London, Paris, Berlin and Madrid shows that social segregation depends on the degree of adaptation of immigrants.
Ethno-social conflicts showed that the territorial polarization is ahead of the processes of equalization and adaptation. London and Paris used different immigrant’s settlement approaches, but eventually have come to the same result. So called “riots” weren’t started in ethnic enclaves and not in the concentration of the poor areas. They started precisely in poor districts with a high proportion of immigrants surrounded by rich areas and that created a sharp contrast. In fact, the study showed that with an abundance of approaches, there still no optimal model for the arrangement and integration of immigrants into the host society.
