Аннотация:Abstract—The routes of hydrolysis of isothiouronium salts of alkylcymantrenes under various conditions and
subsequent chemical transformations of the products of hydrolysis of these salts are studied in order to obtain
sulfur-containing cymantrene derivatives (cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (Cym =
C5H4Mn(CO)3)). An efficient method for the synthesis of alkylcymantrenylthiols is the hydrolysis of the isothiouronium
salts under the action of NaOH in an EtOH–acetone (4 : 1) mixture for 2 h or the reduction
with LiAlH4 of the corresponding disulfides formed in good yields by the hydrolysis of the isothiouronium
salts for 6 h. The electrochemical properties of CymCH(CH3)SSCH(CH3)Cym before and after irradiation
with the light of a Hg lamp at λ = 365 nm in the solution are studied. The structures of the complexes
CymCH(CH3)SSCH(CH3)Cym (I) and CymCH2SCH2Cym (II) are determined by X-ray diffraction analysis
(CIF files CCDC nos. 1921952 and 1921953 for complexes I and II, respectively).
