Аннотация:An algorithm for analysis of sequential images of the Sun obtained by the EIT instrument on board of SOHO satellite is presented. From the point of view of space weather, it is interesting to reveal objects on the Sun that may be a source of fast solar wind. One of the types of such objects are coronal holes that cross the central meridian of the Sun and cause a fast flow of solar wind. The algorithm described in this paper determines the location and area of coronal holes. Comparison of the dynamics of the calculated areas of coronal holes with that of the observed solar wind velocity for the period from August 1 to December 31, 2003, is presented.
