Materials of the long-term observations over quality of water made by laboratory of the Central UGMS on the river of Pakhra at Podolsk in 1977-2015 are considered. It is revealed that the main polluting substances are manganese, copper, ammonium ions, phenols, oil products. On these indicators standards for fishes are exceeded at 5-12 times. Long-term changes of separate indicators of quality of water are connected with change of economic activity, and also – water content of the river. The complex hydrochemical indicator – the index of impurity of water, has shown that for the considered period of river of Pakhra below Podolsk in general it was characterized as "dirty" (the 5th class of quality on classification of Roshydromet), Podolsk – as "polluted" is higher (the 4th class). Strong pollution of the river of Pakhra below Podolsk is confirmed also by results of the hydrobiological research conducted in the summer of 2015 - with use of a method of Vudivis. The received results confirm the previous researches which have shown that the river of Pakhra is one of the most polluted rivers of the Moscow region.
