Аннотация: The purpose of the study. Consideration of possible correlation dependences of the identity of the amplitude-frequency characteristics in the topographic distribution on the scalp and the representation of the main components with a clinical outcome in the presence of EEG phenomenon "burst-suppression" in patients in an unconscious state, due to various etiological factors.Materials and methods. The study included 15 patients with EEG recorded the phenomenon of "burst-suppression": during surgery under sevoflurane anesthesia (3 people); due to an overdose of baclofen (2 patients); after cardiac arrest (6 people); with severe encephalopathy of various etiologies (4 people). EEG was recorded according to the recommendations of the International Association of Clinical Neurophysiologists. Frequency-spectral analysis was performed using fast Fourier transform and principal component analysis (PCA analysis) was used in BESA program.Results. Outbreaks in the phenomenon of "burst-suppression" on EEG were very diverse in amplitude-frequency characteristics not only in different patients, but also in the same patient during the recording. At the same time, the idea that the identical in leads parameters of the amplitude-frequency characteristics that make up the outbreak are a poor prognostic sign, while the variability in these indicators is associated with a favorable outcome, does not coincide with the results of the study. In the examined group all patients died except for patients in whom EEG was recorded during surgery under sevoflurane anesthesia and patients with an overdose of baclofen. At the same time, the low rate of representation of the main components during the outbreak can to some extent serve as an indicator of the possible spread of frequency components, which was observed in patients after cardiac arrest and did not correlate with a favorable outcome.Conclusion. Thus, as shown by the study, the amplitude-frequency characteristics, symmetry, bilateral synchrony and indicators of the ratios of the main and secondary components of the outbreak in the phenomenon of "burst-suppression" can not serve as a reliable criterion when trying to differentiate the causes that caused "burst-suppression" on the EEG, and also do not allow to reasonably predict the dynamics of the outcome of the pathological condition.Keywords: EEG, amplitude-frequency characteristics of the burst in the phenomenon of "burst-suppression", unconsciousness
