Аннотация:The concept of the self-starting harmonic modelocking (SSHML) by electro-optical feedback is studied in a solid-state laser. Such an operational mode with m equidistantpulses in a laser resonator can be implemented using a delayed single negative electro-optical feedback loop which comprises anintracavity electro-optical modulator and a fast high-voltage photodiode. The feedback delay time, limiting gain, generation builduptime, and short laser pulse duration are calculated depending on laser parameters. The pulse duration estimations for a set ofthe widely used Nd and Yb active media are provided. Robustness and low sensitivity to gain level make SSHML laser an attractiveplatform for multi-bunch photoinjector development.
