Аннотация:Stable cluster monolayers were produced on the surface of a stearic-acid Langmuir monolayer. The topography of the cluster monolayers was investigated by STM. The clusters were found to form an ordered two-dimensional lattice in the monolayer. Electron transport through a double-barrier tunnel nanostructure was investigated. As electrons tunneled across the barrier nanostructure, the Coulomb barrier potential was observed to decrease in a regular manner with an increase in the number of nuclei per cluster.
