Аннотация:Russian school of regionalization iii social economic geography formed during the Soviet times has recently faced a number of problems including those related to the system of its definitions and concepts. The topical problem concerns the conceptual lines of evolution of Russian social-economic geography. Three main alternatives are possible, i.e. replacing the "old" school of regionalization by Western models; development of a principally new school of social-economic geography; transformation and extension of the methodological base and the main set of notions and concepts worked out within the framework of the regionalization school. The principal notions and concepts of the school of regionalization are analyzed and the ways of their modernization are suggested.
