Аннотация:This article is a preface to the special issue of Catalysis Today follows the XII European Congress on Catalysis (EuropaCat XII: “Catalysis: Balancing the Use of Fossil and Renewable Resources”), held in Kazan, Russia, on August 30–September 4, 2015. This meeting was organized under the auspices of the European Federation of Catalysis Societies (EFCATS), and attracted 837 participants from 44 countries, who presented 8 plenary lectures, 22 keynote lectures, more than 200 oral talks, and poster presentations. The topics of the Congress were (1) novel catalytic materials and processes for securing supplies of raw materials, (2) catalyst preparation and characterization, (3) energy-related catalysis, (4) catalysis and chemicals, (5) catalysis and environmental protection. Additionally, in the framework of EuropaCat XII scientific program, and under the same roof, XI European Workshop on Innovation in Selective Oxidation (ISO '15) “Selectivity in Oxidation: Key to new resources valorization” took place.
