Annotation. The problem of motivation of young specialists is currently particularly acute. The economic instability caused by the pandemic, lockdowns and the total restructuring of markets and industries after one and a half to two years of the beginning of these global changes on a planetary scale has had a particularly strong impact on the internal state of generations who will not only have to start and develop their careers, but also constantly adapt to changing external conditions. The lack of physical activity associated with an increase in remote communications and work, as well as the high turbulence of the present and future of the world economy, critically affects the professional and career motivation of future young professionals, multiplying the inexperience and misconceptions objectively characteristic of this age about the possibilities of the external environment and labor markets in comparison with personal expectations and career plans. The purpose of the article is to summarize the results of an up-to-date study of the motivation of students studying at the programs of leading universities in Russia in the areas of "Innovation, management, entrepreneurship" and to develop recommendations for universities and future young professionals planning their career trajectories in a changing economy and society.
