Аннотация:The main differences between wild carrot and its cultivars were in the structure of the endocarp. In all samples, it consisted of 3 - 4 layers of elongated cells in the transverse direction, but the wild carrot cell walls of all the layers were lignificated, while the cultivars was lignificated only the innermost adjacent to spermoderm layer. The average thickness of the lignificated layer of endocarp in wild carrot was 20,8 ± 2,5 microns, the "Losinoostrovsky-13» 7,6 ± 3,6 microns, at "the Nantes-4» 7,1 ± 1,6 microns. The thickness of the endocarp wild carrot was significantly different from the cultivars (p <0,000000 by Scheffe). Between cultivars no significant difference (p = 0,888). However, occasionally we celebrated the approach of the thickness of the lignificated layer of endocarp to the wild type. Thus, in one of the samples studied varieties "Losinoostrovskaya-13" it was 18 microns
