The relationship between the enhancement of the bacteriolytic activity of lysozyme and the productive sorption of the enzyme on living bacterial cells in the presence of glycine and charged amino acidтезисы доклада Краткое сообщение Электронная публикация

- Аннотация: Lysozyme is increasingly being considered as an alternative to antibiotics in the fight against resistant bacteria. New information has also emerged about the non-enzymatic role of lysozyme in regulating the functioning of the immune system [1]. In addition, it has recently been found that the antibacterial activity of lysozyme against Gram-negative bacteria is significantly enhanced in the presence of glycine and charged amino acids [2],but the molecular reason for this effect remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the physicochemical parameters of sorption of lysozyme on living cells in the presence of glycine andcharged amino acids. The relationship between the increase in productive sorption and the increase in the bacteriolytic activity of the enzyme was revealed. All experiments were carried out atpH 8.5 and a temperature of 37°C. The substrate was a suspension of E. coli cells. The additives were Gly, Glu, Asp, Lys, His, and Arg. The increase in the rate of bacterial lysis in the presenceof additives ranged from 1.4 to 1.9 times. The desorption constant of lysozyme on bacterial cells in the presence of additives decreased by 1.4–1.7 times, which indicates a stronger binding.The greatest effects were observed for Gly and Arg.
