Аннотация:At the present time Amur River with associated ecosystems and population are in a serious ecological crisis. Its threat is in continuous exposure to adverse factors and in high risk of fast change the situation into disastrous state. The causes of unfavorable change of the river and its ecosystems are related to the effect of indirect (exogenous) and direct (endogenous) drivers. It is almost impossible to regulate the influence indirect drivers, such as demographic, climate change, desertification, a difference in prospects of developments in Russian and Chinese parts of the river basin, and so on. Just these drivers give rise to direct drivers' impact upon Amur River and its ecosystems, including population decline, river runoff regulation by HEP dams, etc. In near time people of the Russian Amur area will live with the essential loss of the region's natural potential. So the urgent need is an elaboration of the strategy for the region that should be adequate for emerged conditions.
