Аннотация:Time variations of electrons with energies greater than about 100 MeV and gamma rays with energies greater than 100 and 200 MeV at heights of about 30 km have been observed, and it has been found that these variations are accompanied by quasi-periodic pulsations of the particle fluxes. These data indicate that the varying electron and proton fluxes are a result of the precipitation of part of the trapped component from the earth's radiation belt. The magnitude and dynamics of precipitating relativistic electrons and subrelativistic protons at L = 2 are determined by the level of ion-cyclotron turbulence accompanying the appearance of the ring current during magnetic disturbances.
