Аннотация:The crystal structure of Dy2PdGe6 was studied by X-ray diffraction on single crystal which was selected from the top of the arc-melted Dy22.2 Pd11.1 Ge66.7 (at. %) alloy. Space group Cmca (No.64), a = 8.1337(16), b = 8.0208(16), c = 21.441(4) Å, V = 1398.8 Å3, Z = 8, 1259 unique reflections with I > 2σ(I0) (2Θmax = 75.81°) in refinement, down to R1 = 0.029, wR2 = 0.071. The title compound is isotypic to polymorphic modification of Yb2PdGe6, crystal structure of which was earlier reported in [1]. The crystal structure can be presented as a sequence of the AlB2, BaAl4 and distorted α-Po types slabs along the c direction. The atomic order in Dy2PdGe6 derived from single crystal data was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction. Electron probe microanalysis indicated main matrix of Dy22Pd11Ge67 (at. %) composition and presence of slight amount of pure Ge and unknown phase of Dy19Pd37Ge44 (at. %) composition.
According to powder diffraction data La2PdGe6, Dy2PtGe6, Ho2PdGe6, and Ho2PtGe6 compounds are isotypic to Dy2PdGe6.
