Аннотация:On the basis of the fossil microalgae records and detailed radiocarbon chronology of sediment cores obtained from the southeastern inner Laptev Sea shelf adjacent to the Lena Delta the following peculiarities of the Lena River discharge during the last 6 cal. ka could be emphasized:
• variations in surface water salinities in the area adjacent to the Lena Delta were mainly coursed by the changes in the volume of the Lena River runoff through the major riverine channels;
• the following stages of the changes in the direction of the Lena River discharge through the major channels were revealed: generally eastward outflow via the Trofimovskaya and Bykovskaya Channels approximately 6 – 4.2, and after 2.7 cal. ka, and increase in riverine outflow in the northward direction via the Tumatskaya Channel before 2.7 cal. ca.
• the constant Atlantic water inflow to the southeastern inner Laptev Sea shelf through the Eastern Lena paleovalley due to reversal upwelling currents during the last 6 cal. ka and their sporadic entrance to the inner shelf through the Western Lena paleovalley.
