Аннотация:A 1-MeV linear proton accelerator is described that is based on a resonance system that contains half-wave dipoles in the form of a degenerate helix with two longitudinal electrodes. Drift tubes connected to the electrodes ensure particle acceleration and asymmetrical phase-variable focusing. A maximum accelerated-beam pulse current of 4 mA is obtained. The excitation frequency of the resonator is 150 MHz and the injection energy is 100 keV. The accelerator is used for radiation study of materials.
