Аннотация:The paper presents the results of the analysis of observations of a quiet prominence on the horizontal solar spectrograph HSFA-2 of the Ondrejov observatory (Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences) in the spectral lines of hydrogen, helium and calcium. After processing the spectra, the integral fluxes of radiation in the lines were determined and a theoretical calculation of the physical parameters of the plasma was made under the assumption that the prominence is transparent in the continuous spectrum of the optical range, but taking into account possible self-absorption in the spectral lines. The parameters of the prominence are calculated in the heated gas model. Comparison of five lines at once made it possible to restore the parameters of the radiating gas with a high degree of confidence. The observed fluxes in the lines can be explained in terms of purely thermal heating of the prominence gas. The density and electron temperature of the prominence, as well as the calculated fluxes in the emission lines of the Balmer series, are variable on time scales from one to twenty minutes.
