Аннотация:It was found that doping with copper raised considerably the paramagnetic Curie point of the nsemiconductor CdCr2S4 by an average of 90 degrees, whereas the ferromagnetic Curie point was not affected. This was attributed to the appearance of giant magnetic quasimolecules formed around the Cu^2+ ions. These giant magnetic quasimolecules were predicted theoretically by Nagaev as well as Yanase and Kasuya. A rise of the paramagnetic Curie point observed for nonstoichiometric single-phase soinels CdCr2Se(4-y) and FeCr2S(4-y] without the Curie point change. The former spinel obeyed the Curie-Weiss Law, whereas the paramagnetic susceptibility ofFeCr2S(4-y] varied in accordance with the Neel law. Obviously, a deficit of the chalcogen is a lattice defects of the donors type. Thus the paramagnetic Curie point of these two compounds could be used as a sensitive indicator of the nonstoichiometry of composition.
