Аннотация:At the present time the improving of LiFePO4 cathode material for lithium rechargeable
batteries is in the greatest interest. One of the ways of improving LiFePO4 consists of partial
replacement of Fe on other 3d elements. In our work the main efforts have been made on the
obtaining LiFe 1-xMnxPO4 solid solution particles with different manganese content x in the form of thin plates of nano-thickness. The samples with x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 were obtained and
studied. The template technique was involved for solving the problem. Initially, the thin plates Fe1-xMnx(OH)2 were precipitated as the templates, then a solution of NH4H2PO4 was added. The thin
plates of NH4Fe1-xMnxPO4∙H2O of micron size of thickness about 200 nm were crystallized. After
annealing with lithium carbonate at 600°C in 12 h under argon flow the monophase samples were
obtained. According to results of chemical analysis the Fe/Mn ratio in LiFe 1-xMnxPO4 corresponded
to the Fe and Mn ratio in initial solution, the lithium content was near stoichiometry. The
fundamental problems of template technique in LiFe1-xMnxPO4 producing are discussed.
