Аннотация:We study the processes occurring inside carbon nanotubes during their growth. Carbon nanotubes were grown by the chemical vapor deposition method on iron catalyst. We observed the presence of α-, γ- and ε-phases of iron as well as its carbides inside the nanotubes. Stacking faults were found in (0 0 1) of cementite appearing due to the deformation of the cementite inside the nanotubes. Orientation relationships between different phases of iron are established. They allow one to conclude on the mechanisms of mutual transformations of the iron phases and carbides inside the nanotubes.
