Аннотация:X-ray diffraction, Moessbauer spectroscopy and magnetic methods were applied to investigate crystal-phase transformations in Fe2B powders under deformation during 30h and after subsequent annealing at 973 K for 1h. Powders with initial particle size of 300 μm were undergone to grinding in a planetary ball mill. At the beginning of deformation an orthorhombic phase was found to form with magnetic ordering temperature Tc equal to 915K and hyperfine magnetic field Heff equal to 23.6 T. Further grinding followed by annealing resulted in FCC phase formation of Cr23C6 type lattice with Tc=730 K and Heff=21.5 T. Late in deformation considerable amount (50%) of α-Fe was observed. A suggestion was made that powder deformation under certain conditions could lead to amorphous state of material. The studies described were carried out for the purpose of estimation of borided steel behaviour under various loads
