Аннотация:The interaction of a shock with elliptic bubble of heavy gas is numerically studied using Euler’s equations for axisymmetric perfect gas flows. Bubble is modeled by elliptic area of the same gas with higher density. The details of shock focusing phenomenon are discussed. A transition between external and internal shock focusing patterns is described. A quantitative dependency of intensity of long-living vortex that trails retransmitted incident shock is determined.
