- Аннотация: In this paper, a numerical investigation of energy separation in the wake region of a single cylinder under subsonic compressible flow conditions has been conducted. The Eckert-Weise effect, which results in the formation of a lower temperature zone in the vortex-formation region of the cylinder, has been examined. The mechanisms driving energy separation and their contributions to the redistribution of total enthalpy in the wake of the investigated body: pressure fluctuation, viscous forces, heat conduction and turbulent kinetic energy diffusion-were analyzed. It has been noted that, even in the turbulent regime of cylinder flow, the dominant influence on the energy separation process continues to be the unsteadiness of the flow. Conclusions are drawn regarding the necessity of future experimental investigation
